I have always been a traditionalist when it comes to picking books to read. Historical fiction, general fiction, sportswriting, memoir, political non-fiction–that’s where I gravitate when I head to the library or bookstore.
However, I joined a book group called Rave Reviews Book Club (RRBC), and the authors opened my eyes to new genres, ones I’d never picked up in either a bookstore or library, or even browsed through on Amazon.
Linnea Tanner, an amazing author, introduced me to her trilogy set in 24 AD, about Celtic lands and those who lived there. Beginning with Apollo’s Dagger (Book One: The Curse of Clansmen and Kings), this author weaves a tale that drew me in from the first page with her description of Caitrin, forbidden love, mythological adventure, and political intrigue in Ancient Rome and Britannia.
